The first thing we must understand is that both are higher education institutions: both the College and the University. But there is a significant yet subtle difference between them that leads to different nomenclature.
Before you understand more about how academic education works outside Brazil, we need to understand what higher education is like here:
In Brazil, we have three types of higher education.
THE TECHNOLOGIST: The course lasts about 2 years.
BACHELOR’S DEGREE: which lasts from 4 to 5 years.
THE BACHELOR: which lasts from 3 to 6 years.
Having said that, we can better understand the difference between College and University.
COLLEGE:
Colleges offer more comprehensive courses similar to those of a technologist in Brazil, that is, shorter courses (up to 2 years)
UNIVERSITY:
Universities offer the most dense courses that refer to the degree and baccalaureate in Brazil, which last between 4 and 6 years.
We must never forget that these, regardless of where they fit, have the same weight; they are included in higher education and receive a diploma in the same way, without discrimination.
Of course, if you take 30-minute classes once a week, it won’t make you evolve quickly and effectively, after all, the methodology is based on the FREQUENCY you have with the language. From 2 times a week, you can see details of your evolution that you’ve never seen before.
Do you know the definition of practice?
